Oh, To Be Like a Tree

I have always had a love for trees. Not to climb them or, really, even sit underneath them. But I have always loved to look at them, to see them blowing in the wind. I adore the change in colors of their leaves when the seasons change and it’s amazing to see a tree hanging on for dear life, where it’s only bent, but doesn’t break.

I read a devotional that asked the following questions: how are you like/not like a tree planted by streams of water, what are the streams of water that feed you, and what things can help you grow deep roots of faith? (Trees and Streams, 2021, YouVersion Holy Bible app). I encourage you to take some time today and ask those questions of yourself. There’s no right or wrong answer, no set time of the day to do it, and no minimum time to complete it. So, don’t avoid this opportunity to reflect on areas your life that could strengthen your resolve.
