What a wonderfully blessed morning I’ve had on today! Now, when I tell you the first part, you may squint just a little as to how I could’ve made the previous statement. As I dropped one of my daughter’s off at school today, she dried her tears in preparation to begin the day amongst her friends in the (sometimes) dreaded hallways of education. But, I asked for her hand prior to her exiting the car and suggested that, when she feels bad throughout the day, to not let the feeling linger. I told her to begin writing down (or thinking about) all of the blessings God has given her on today. She nodded her head in agreement, so even now I’m praying her list is a mile long.
Part two: as life would have it, I later received a call from the surgeon’s office that my (newly) scheduled date would need to be moved as the doctor would be performing no surgeries on the date now listed. The scheduler and I shared a laugh as we gave God glory for this unexpected change. It was going to shift all of my other appointments pertaining to this procedure and require me to, for the third time now, ask my friend if they’d be available to accompany me for the new date.
Well, it turns out I hadn’t heard from my friend on the second date because they’d been working on rescheduling one of their medical appointments so they could accompany me during mine (that’s such a great blog for another day)! Now, they wouldn’t have to adjust theirs and they’d be available for me on my new date. God ordered our steps long before today, but we saw the results of it today. That’s just how good He is and how He works sometimes!
The Word of God tells us that the steps of the righteous are ordered by God. God knows what we need before we can even ask. He knows our plans for tomorrow and has already mapped out the way forward, knowing the decisions we’ll make along the way. I’m excited to share this part of my day with my daughter later today. I want her to be encouraged that, no matter the size of her problem or the weight she feels about anything, God has ordered her steps. She just needs to be fully committed to giving Him praise in and through all things. I pray that as you complete this read, you’ll walk away encouraged to do the same.
