Be Careful Little…

“Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets; therefore do not associate with a simple babbler,” is the English Standard Version of Proverbs 20:19. If you’ve never heard the Christian nursery song that warns us about what we hear, say, or do, I recommend you give it a listen. It truly is just the cutest little jingle.

It is true that not everything we hear is meant to be shared. There are some things people will tell you that are flat out lies, some are often scary, and others are can be downright heartbreaking. Anyone of those could be something that needs to be retold or never repeated, but the true weight of the decision doesn’t have to be on you alone. That’s the beauty of having a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. After all, the Bible tell us to seek Him first, right, and to not lean to our own understanding (trust me, but look it up, too). 🥰

Don’t allow the enemy, Satan, to cause you to carry unnecessary weight. If someone shares something with you and you worry about what to do with it, pray about it. Some secrets are not yours to tell; others are revealed to you so that you become a doorway to freedom. Ask God what role you should play and don’t take on one until He tells you to.
